[Point in time taken from canon] Post-Miraculous Birthday.

[Background]
hither!

[Personality] Suzaku was born the son of the last Prime Minister of Japan, Genbu Kururugi. As such, he grew up with his father in the Kururugi Shrine, principles of living ingrained in him fiercely.

He was still a child when Lelouch and Nunnally vi Britannia came to live with them, taken as political hostages at that time. At first, Suzaku wasn't kind to them, and reacted in violent ways to Lelouch (who was arrogant to begin with), but once he got to know the two of them, his views changed and they became fast friends.

Not too long afterwords, Suzaku caught wind of what his father was planning on doing (which involved far too many deaths for a young Suzaku to comprehend), and tried to talk him out of it. His sense of justice had been developed earlier on and even after; however, his father would not waver, and so Suzaku killed him. The incident was covered up, so that Suzaku could be kept safe. He kept his father's pocket watch on him. War tore he and his friends apart as Britannia fought with Japan for the Sakuradite trade, and the siblings went away.

It proved to save his life later on after he became an Honorary Britannian soldier and met up with his old time friend, Lelouch again (Lelouch, however, being under the name of "Lelouch Lamperouge" instead of "Lelouch vi Britannia"). Suzaku was ordered to kill Lelouch, but he refused to do it, and was shot and supposedly killed for it. The bullet hit the pocket watch, therefore saving Suzaku's life.

Through a turn of events, Suzaku became the pilot of Lancelot (a powerful Knightmare frame [which later becomes Lancelot Albion]) despite lacking the proper title. He attended Ashford Academy as a student (and soldier) and endured his fair share of bullying as he was an Eleven. Even though he was officially considered an Honorary Britannian, he was still an Eleven -- Japanese. However, he met Lelouch once again, along with Nunnally, at Ashford Academy and they reconnected. Suzaku was a kind and gentle-hearted individual, who wanted to change the world from the inside, and had a firm belief in that. He followed his orders faithfully, even if it meant he would have to give up his own life.

From there on in Suzaku's life, there was much turmoil and grief, including getting put under a Geass command to "live" by his best friend Lelouch (who was in disguise as Zero, a terrorist) because Suzaku had resigned himself to death, though there were the happy moments. Suzaku remained his loyal, just self. It wasn't long before he met Princess Euphemia, and became her knight (and was given a pin he also keeps on him to prove such a thing). He served her with the utmost respect and loyalty, and even loved her (and didn't need to be ordered to, even as she did, to love her as she had loved him). He was content with that love and respect.

Such a thing wasn't able to last, however.

Suzaku became more calculating and a tad more ruthless after Euphemia died (being shot by Zero). He witnessed her death from his Knightmare frame and pushed it to its limits to rush in and grab her. He was too late, though. The doctors couldn't save her, and in her last moments she asked him if the Japanese were happy with what she had done, her memories erased of the massacre she started due to the accidental trigger of Lelouch's Geass. Suzaku lied to her, and told her that they were happy. He tried to keep her alive with the prospects of attending school together, but she told him to go for the both of them, and died.

After that, he developed a deep hatred for Zero, and chased him to an island, where he confronted the other. He fired a shot at the mask and revealed the face of the person Suzaku had suspected but did not want to believe had been Zero: Lelouch. The encounter ended with two more shots being fired, one by each respective person, and Suzaku took Lelouch in to the Emperor. Lelouch, Zero, was traded in so that Suzaku could become one of the Knights of the Rounds (elite knights under the order of the Emperor) -- the Knight of Seven. His proposal was taken, and Lelouch's memories were erased through Charles's Geass.

A year passed after that, to show that Suzaku was a different person with his new Knight of Zero title. He was considered the friend of the Knight of Three, Gino Weinberg, and the Knight of Six, Anya Alstreim. He had even taken Arthur (a cat) with him. Suzaku was not afraid to use lethal force in his mission to conquer the European Union, and he happened to use it well. Holding a strong desire to kill Zero, Suzaku told Charles that he would be the only one to kill Zero.

Over time, though, the memories that were sealed by Charles beforehand returned to Lelouch and Suzaku went in to investigate. However, he found no evidence, and couldn't apprehend and take Lelouch in again. The F.L.E.I.J.A. bomb was developed (a very dangerous and powerful weapon that was attached to his Lancelot frame) and Suzaku accidentally fired it because of his activated Geass command. Millions of people died. Needless to say, Suzaku was heartbroken and torn -- but it changed him, once again, to become even more negative and self destructive than he previously had been.

Soon, Suzaku and Lelouch met up again at the Sword of Akasha, a mechanism that Charles and Marianne (the mother of Lelouch, who was assumed to have been killed in a terrorist attack) were planning on using to wipe away the world of lies and masks. Together, along with C.C., they overcame the Emperor and formerly deceased Empress, whereas Lelouch sent away and killed them.

Months later, it is revealed that Lelouch became the Emperor, while Suzaku stood at his side as the Knight of Zero. He was completely devoted to Lelouch, and protected him and his ideals no matter the cost, killing several Knights of Rounds members who had decided to rebel against their new Emperor. Even later, a plan is put into action called Zero Requiem. It required Suzaku to fake his own death during the attack on the Damocles, where he survived and lived for the next three months in silence. During the end of those three months, Lelouch gives Suzaku the Zero mask; Suzaku took it, along with the identity.

And in the end, Suzaku only half succeeded in doing in killing Zero. He killed the man behind the mask, Lelouch (tearfully, as Lelouch was his best friend and Emperor), but took on the identity of Zero as a price. With that identity instilled in him and accepting the Geass a dying Lelouch spoke to him of (to no longer be Suzaku and to live the rest of his life out as Zero), Suzaku was no longer able to be himself. Instead, he became a silent, anti social silhouette of what he was once, taking care of the Empress Nunnally and using Schneizel (Lelouch's older brother whom was also placed under a Geass, though his was to serve "Zero") as his aid.

Suzaku is, however, a man with a very tough core. Or, at least, until the fact that he killed his father is brought up (take Mao, for example, revealing the information and using it against him). Incidentally, the act was covered up, but Suzaku is still living with the guilt -- and has been his entire life. Suzaku's life had been dictated by that one action, and it eventually led him to joining the Britannian army and becoming a foot soldier. He throws himself out in the front lines and bad situations, often times much worse, without hesitation.

Some could say that he had a hero complex -- but others (the people who know him) know that it's not as simple as that. Suzaku believes that the murdering of others is unnecessary and would rather it be him dying on the battlefield or else where rather than some other person -- whether he knows them or not (but especially if he knows them).

As Zero, he's calm, and anti-social. Words are not necessary for 'Zero', as 'Zero' is a symbol that stands for something much greater. 'Zero' is stoic and unmovable, fairly unruffled and intimidating with his height and general being. He's not Suzaku Kururugi, even if it is Suzaku under the mask. 'Zero' is a separate identity from the one that the Japanese man gave up -- 'Suzaku Kururugi' is a dead identity to him, and there's not much one can do to change that (unless, of course, Lelouch vi Britannia is brought back to life and he's ordered to become Suzaku Kururugi -- this, being impossible as the dead don't come back to life).

After all, the day that Lelouch vi Britannian died, he took with him the last piece of Suzaku that Suzaku had in himself. Lelouch governed that part of his life, and Suzaku was as loyal to his Emperor as he was to his Princess, Euphemia. When Suzaku was the Knight of Zero, he took on the role with such a fierce loyalty, that he was able to keep up and in step with the one he swore to protect: Lelouch. As a matter of fact, he had done so with Euphemia li Britannia as well -- however, she died, and left Suzaku to his suicidal thoughts and impulsive actions. Following Lelouch's death, he has the knowledge that Lelouch's elder brother - Schneizel - would be by his side no matter what happened. While he is well aware that he is to be alone, Suzaku has always been thankful that he has the Second Prince backing him up.

Underneath everything, the mask he put on as Zero, and the mask under that he put on to keep himself from falling so apart that he wouldn't be able to put himself back together as he had done many times before, Suzaku is still a kind individual. He has dashed away any sense of selfishness he had before (if there happened to be any to begin with), and replaced it with his own brand of selflessness. He protects Nunnally as Zero, has the aid of Schneizel el Britannia, but when everything is taken away -- he's still the loyal, caring 'Suzaku Kururugi', and it's who he will always be.

From age seventeen to eighteen, Suzaku Kururugi went through more hardships than any normal teenager should have been allowed. He had killed his father at a young age, ended up killing his best, and only, friend for the sake of a gentler world, and sacrificed his individual identity to become the person he so very loathed. If one thing was for certain, it was that Suzaku would have done anything for the world, for everyone else's happiness instead of his own. And, he was not afraid to live out the rest of his life as a symbol for people to look up to, unable to live for himself, and was more than willing to wear a mask over his face to hide away who he truly was underneath it.

[Abilities]
Suzaku has excellent hand-eye coordination, and his military training was thorough and extensive enough to give him knowledge in firearms and hand-to-hand combat. He had training, even then, with a General named Tohdoh Kyoshiro, in martial arts (but that was before Britannia invaded Japan). Ever since then, he had been training himself every day. Adding to that, he proves to be quite knowledgeable in kendo, being a skilled practitioner in it (which is more than likely due to his upbringing).

This physical prowess was often exaggerated (him dodging bullets from Knightmares [seen in the last episode where he showed up as Zero and killed Lelouch] and mounted machine guns with lag times, picking up a mecha's foot by himself, running on walls, lifting up two people with one hand, and, familiarly, his need to spin kick/roundhouse kick guns out of people's hands or otherwise spin kick their face/other bodily parts). He is, physically, extremely strong and in top shape.

He also happens to be a skilled pilot -- though, he lacks a certain amount of tactic and strategy, instead relying on his instinct and his Knightmare's abilities, which were understandably often considered superior to all others. This instinct - and "impressive mind" as Lelouch himself has said - helps take Lelouch's plans apart and make efficient use of the Geass he is placed under. Numerous times, he is able to predict what Lelouch is going to do successfully act based on it - which made it easier to work together with him when they disarmed a F.L.E.I.J.A. bomb in the middle of a battle.

Now, as for the Geass he was placed under by Lelouch - which happened to be something so simple: "Live" - it forces him to, no matter what, not die. Suzaku has often times used it to his advantage, as it heightens his physical abilities (which were already insane to begin with) if he ever feels suicidal or particularly accepts that he's going to die and the like. He uses it to overcome and kill the Knight of One when he raised a rebellion against the Emperor, Lelouch vi Britannia (whom Suzaku was formerly and personally protecting as Knight of Zero), and he used it during the attack on the Damocles when he was supposedly "killed" (as in the Lancelot had blown up). When his reflexes can't save him from life threatening situations, the Geass does.

However, that Geass is both a blessing and a curse; a blessing in how it helps him survive every situation he is put in (including when he was in the Lancelot Albion and it blew up completely), and a curse in how it completely twists his judgment, personality, and morals, and bends his will to Lelouch's own will. In one case, he was going to be "killed" by Kallen and her overpowered Guren-MK, but the Geass activated the minute Suzaku accepted that he was going to die, and Suzaku pulled the trigger to drop the F.L.E.I.J.A. that had been attached to his Knightmare -- something that he originally never intended to do. The end result was horrific and catastrophic: over ten million dead in less than ten minutes, and the destruction of the Tokyo Settlement. All that was left was a giant, gaping hole. The Geass was cast so that Suzaku could live, not the people around him.

[Other important stuff] None!

[First Person]
- If you could go back home, would you? Why or why not?
—of course I would go back. This place is nice, but it's... it's not home.
- What were you doing before now?
Paperwork. It's nothing spectacular, really. —unless you count the size of the stacks, but I could get that done quickly if I were just home.
- Would you consider yourself a power hungry individual?
Do you really need to know the answer to that? [he's uncomfortable, all right,] No, I don't.
- Someone comes to you to ask for the time. How would you respond?
Well— I'd give them the time. [he doesn't see why he wouldn't or why he'd answer any other way.]
- Do you stand up against authority, go against all odds, and if you could, pierce the heavens with your fighting spirit? If not, would you if you could?
[...what? seriously?] I don't know if you're being serious or not anymore, that's definitely an exaggeration, but— that answer would depend on what the authority in question has done.

[he's the sword of justice, but he has to know what he's standing up for, goodness.]
- Your country is in the middle of a war. What do you think of it? Do you support it or try to solve it yourself by going on an epic quest? Explain.
... [well then. that escalated quickly.] I would do whatever my Empress asked of me. There's no other answer, no other explanation— that's just how it is.
- You are a given a mission. Would you complete it effectively or would you goof off and do something else? Expand a little on the response.
Complete it as effectively as I can. There's no room for fun and games on missions. [he doesn't care what that makes him, spoil sport or party pooper, suzaku doesn't play.]
- Murder. What is your opinion?
['the end justifies the means', he almost writes, but then euphy singes her image like a burning bright red beacon in his head and hhhhh.
he skips this instead.]

- You have two options: either save your friend who is hanging from a cliff, or chase after the bad guy who put them in a position. If you choose the former, the bad guy will get away and it will be hard to catch him. If you choose the latter, the cliff will crumble and the friend will fall to the spiky rocks below. What do you do and why?
I'd save my friend. I don't have any doubt I would catch the "bad guy" later - my friend's safety is a little more important than a possibility.
- You just got a challenge to fight from one of the strongest gang leaders around. Do you accept or reject? Why?
Sorry, I don't have time for something like that - I'd reject.
- Do you prefer adventure or the peaceful life?
...a peaceful life. [it is too much to ask for?]
- If you could destroy a city, how would you do it?
[he did that with a F.L.E.I.J.A. and it brings back a whallop of disturbing thought, so -

skipping this question, too.]

- If you could fight in a giant robot, what would it be and what would you do?
[huh?] Do you mean Lancelot—? If you could rebuild it, I'd appreciate it [not that he'd need it anymore or really even use it, but. nostalgia.], but I don't think Lloyd would be very happy that his baby is being rebuilt by someone else.

But, I wouldn't mind taking it out for another ride. There wouldn't really be a use for it beyond that, would there?
- You are forced onto the dance floor and you MUST dance or the most important person or thing will be destroyed. What do you end up dancing and to what music?
...please don't threaten the lives of my friends so easily— [quickest way to make him angry, little interview!] I... don't know. If there's a dance they want me to dance, I'll do my best to dance it. I don't have anything specific in my mind.
- Do you have any future goals or dreams? What are they?
No. [no.] I just... [he doesn't want to answer this.]
- Am I asking too many personal or strange questions?
You are. [definitely.]

[Third Person]
They're all here, they're all here - that information beats bright green wings in his skull and it feels like the blood in his veins are on fire.

Suzaku thought they'd never come back, but maybe they came back with him?  Lelouch and C.C., he means, since Nunnally, Kay, Mami, and Madoka seem to be fine.  Well and fine, he'd contacted them upon arrival at least, just not... Lelouch and C.C.  He might contact the latter of the two and he might not because he doesn't think she remembers.  The chance of that is high, very high, and the chance of Lelouch not remembering even higher.  He didn't remember last time, so why should he remember now?

He doesn't know.  The logic for that is a little more for him to think over right now, on the first day, his mind frazzled and hurting as he tries very hard to think of a way to -

A way to avoid Lelouch.

He doesn't want to deal with this a third time.  Prolonged contact wouldn't be good for him; he thought he made it so far, so well without him.  Did he even celebrate Nunnally's birthday with her?  It would be late, very late, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't still be brought up.  How long has he even been here and why can't Suzaku stop thinking about it?  This is starting to give him a headache and he leans against the wall in his room, at this house with these girls, pressing a hand to his head to stop any further ventures into the painful realm of thinking way too hard.  Just because he's Zero doesn't mean that he wants to think anymore than he honestly has to.

At least Kallen and Gino are still... gone, somewhat, physically.  They're still there in memory where they'll always remain, but Suzaku sees enough problems as is.  He hopes that nothing has happened since he's been away - vaguely, he knows, after looking back through the posts that something big must have happened - but...

Maybe he should just go back to not hoping.  Two years in this place very two years spent chasing Lelouch when he was Zero, and Suzaku's changing again.  He's changing in ways that he doesn't want to change.  He doesn't want to trust anyone anymore, he doesn't want to wrap his arms around Kay (yes he does, just a small, small bit), he doesn't want to laugh and cry and smile, he just wants... he wants to go home and stay home in the palace with Schneizel, and Kanon, and the Empress, no where near this world of dreams that provokes even more nightmares than before.

Why did he come back?  For Nunnally's sake?  For Shirley's sake?  For Lelouch's, or C.C.'s, or Kay's, and Madoka's, and Mami's?

(He wants to be with them so bad.  So, so, so bad, he feels like he's never wanted anything more than to make them smile and be endlessly happy.)

Why is this happening to him again?

[Why do you want to play this character in Somarium?] Because it was a blast when he was here before for that year and some months that I had him here! I dropped him during a time in which his voice was too close to Kamui's and it was slowly fading out because of that, but now that I've gotten a handle on him again I'd like to pick up where I left off with him.
[Which rule was your favorite and why?] "Partner/animal pets allowed"; again. Suzaku and Arthur, man, sometimes there are beings that Suzaku can't do without sometimes and misses more often than not.
[Where did you hear about Somarium?] Iiii have been here for over two years now? Originally, I just happened upon it.
[Any questions?] Nah. :T
